My First Spring Experience

leave a comment »

It was Summer (PH time) when I left the country. 4th of May 2017 via China Southern Airlines bound to Guangzhou, China then my destination – Los Angeles, California.

That was the longest flight I’ve been to. Been awake for 19hrs the entire flight. The nervousness fade the moment I step out of the airport and greet my Aunt who fetched me. Then reality sinks in, I’m here! Kim K and I are breathing the same polluted air. (HAHAHA)

Welcome to United States of America!

I went there to attend my cousin; my sister I never had; my frenemy’s (is there really such a term? Hahaha) graduation which happened on the 6th of May.

For 7 years and 7 months of talking through Viber, Messenger, Instagram and whatever means of communications this techy world now have, we finally got to see each other AGAIN. 🤜🏻🤛🏻

I stayed there for over a month so might as well enjoy every moment. Yay? I got a chance to visit 4 states. (Thank God, school’s over she have all the time to take me to places.)

1st state – CALIFORNIA!

@ Santa Monica Pier

@Downtown LA

@Universal Studios, Hollywood

@Balboa Park, San Diego

@Old Town, San Diego

@USS Midway Museum, San Diego

@Coronado, California

@Sunset Cliffs Natural Park, San Diego

@Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills

@LACMA (Been dreaming to see this! It happened everyone! It really did!!)

@Hollywood Blvd

@Disneyland, Hollywood

Next state, NEVADA!!

@Las Vegas, NV

@Seven Magic Mountains, NV

@The Strip

@Fremont (We tried their Slotzilla!!!)

@Valley of Fire State Park

Third state, ARIZONA

@Hoover Dam

Been to 2 states at the same time. Arizona and Nevada! Different time zones!!! Cool right?

@Horse Shoe Bend, Arizona

@Antelope Canyon, Arizona

Remember those wallpapers at your Microsoft computers? Yes yes yes! Amazing!

Last state, UTAH

@Zion National Park, UT

The only place I got to see in this beautiful state.

I can’t post all the pictures and videos  I took for a month long stay but as you can see, It was FUN and EXPENSIVE at the same time. Hahaha.

Till my next #happydaysofrinalynfaye

Unforgettable September – Masasa, Tingloy Batangas

with one comment

They all say “Wake me up when September ends” My mantra would be “Wake me up when September begins.” My summer vibe at the middle of the year. I guess, I was born to play with sands and waves. Everyone thinks the same way too.

After that “Videoke thing on August” I met with 2 of them over a bucket of beer just to say I’ll be absent at our monthly thing for August so I invited them at my place at Batangas before Kier leaves the country. Which in the end, I was there to sing with them too. HAHAHA. So yeah, here we are. After a month, Batangas we go! (L-R) Reigner, Me, Peaches,Kenneth and Jo Anne) Kier on wheels. (He doesn’t want to be tagged on facebook that’s why. HAHAHA)

Since they arrived at our house in Manila late, the whole schedule was messed up. We’re supposed to climb this mountain at our town but we didn’t. They’re too tired to trek and walk so we pour ourselves into these alcohol. 2 Emperador Light, 3 Red Horse Beer Mucho and 2 Grand Matador. Kudos to me, Reigner and Kier for being the toughest of ’em all. We’re drinking till 3AM. I got drunk. Real drunk. HAHAHA

Our good morning faces. HAHAHA. Off to paradise which I’ve been dying to go since I don’t know.

The place i’m talking about – Masasa Beach at Tingloy, Batangas. A boat ride away from my place. I was in awe when I finally laid my eyes on this place. But even before seeing this beach, you’ll first go through this.

Wonderful isn’t? I know. I know.

I missed this girl so damn much. A candid photo of you and a not so candid photo of me. AHAHAHA. No FO’s okay? HAHAHA

Hey you, in that moment, in that fucking moment you lost me.

Spontaneous July – YOLO at Bulacan

leave a comment »

It was a gloomy Saturday afternoon when I a friend of mine pm’ed me on Facebook just to say we’ll push through. Despite that not so lovely weather, I packed my things and left home with a note for my mom saying I’ll be back the next day.

It’s INC’s 100th year celebration so we kinda left early at Kamuning for us not to be stuck in traffic. But we weren’t lucky enough but we had time –  we made time to go crazy while waiting.

Thank God for counter-flow we arrived a little early at Bulakan so we ate lugaw which is delicious by the way. Perfect for the weather indeed.

At around 9pm, we left Bulakan to go to Malolos to do what we really have to do.

As a matter of fact, alcohol keeps us together. So yeah. We went all the way North to have a drink with 5 of them. After 4 buckets, we decided to go hard at Jo Anne’s place instead. While we were on our way, someone (I really don’t know who that someone is) suggested we go swimming instead. Everybody affirmed. We still went to Jo Anne’s place for her to get clothes for us to wear. See? This is indeed spontaneous.

As much as I want to share every detail, I’d rather not. But to tell you frankly, I was so damn happy that day.

“There will always be that person in our life we’ll never lose feelings for.”

Amusing May – Family love at Caramoan

leave a comment »

12 hours land travel from Manila to Naga. 1 hour and a half land travel from Naga to Sabang Port. 2 hours boat ride from Sabang to Guijalo Port. Yes! The travel time will be that long. Nonetheless, you’ll  get to enjoy the view and the beauty of Caramoan will definitely take your breathe away.

It was last May 9 when my family went to Caramoan to spend another summer vacation. It wasn’t planned. It’s just been a week of preparation and yet forever will be in our hearts.

Friday afternoon when we arrived at Caramoan, ate lunch, rest a little and we’re off to some adventure. Island hopping it is!

I was bitten by a jellyfish because I was trying so hard to learn how to do the “floating” which I learned finally. That was one hell of a first day. I got darker already! Yihoo!

Our second day was another set of island hopping. We’re unfortunate to visit 4 islands because Survivor Holand already started their shooting the same day we were there but I’m happy to say we got to visit other islands too!

My mom does it everyday and everywhere. She joined us but didn’t even get off the boat because of her foot. Good thing, she’ll witness the beauty of the place too.

Starfish were all over the place. I am fond of starfish. You all know that right?

Summer photo 2014. One thing I’ll miss about my brother. His candid shots are what I like best.

Because I can no longer flip my hair, I’ll flip my feet instead.

So here’s the story.

Me: Ayoko na umalis. Dito na lang ako.

Then he grabbed my foot and pulled me. Funny thing is, I laughed instead of getting mad.

This is the only picture we are complete. This will do anyway.

We climbed 500+ steps to get to the top and witness the majestic view of Caramoan Peninsula. (Refer to the first photo of this post.)

Our Lady of Peace.

IMG_0997Our last top for our last day – Red Church of Caramoan

Having a chance to visit Caramoan. the feeling is surreal. You’ve traveled the entire Philippines already. Caramoan have this Chocolate Hills like in Bohol. Many lagoons like in Palawan. Fine white sand like in Boracay. The green mountains like in Batanes. And wait, I almost forgot. You’ll pass by Mayon Volcano too. See? Caramoan is worth a visit. 3 days won’t be enough but I can always go back right?

2 thumbs up for another summer escapade.

November 2013, Appreciating Bohol

leave a comment »

Last July, we availed this promo for Bohol for 3 days and 2 nights. All-in. Yes! Airfare, Airport Transfers, Accommodations and Tour included at the cheapest price as I believe in the market.

By October, as we all know, Bohol was massively affected by a 7.2 magnitude earthquake. It was all over the news. The old churches which the place are known was destroyed. Series of aftershocks are felt days and weeks after the incident.

I was alarmed and I even planned not to go anymore. Who would go anyway? The basic reason why I wanna go there is to see the place most especially their churches. What would I do there anyway if it’s devastated? We had arrangements with the travel agency, and lucky for us they are accommodating. Our Bohol tour pushed through anyway with a little change in our itinerary.

November 30th, no delayed in flights. And we finally arrived. My younger brother which will come from Cebu was waiting there. After 6 months of not seeing each other we’ll be together for the next 3 days of stay in Bohol.

First stop: Crabhouse Seafood Restaurant at Tagbilaran City. It’s lunch time and we are starving. The driver brought us here. Not bad. The food are delicious. Worth every penny!

From L-R: My brother RV. My mom. Me and our youngest. Taken in front of the inn we are staying. Packed some things and we’re off to go.

We happened to pass Dauis Church. One of the churches destroyed by the earthquake. I was afraid to took some photo but I did anyway. Sorry.

Taken inside the Hinagdanan Cave. Sorry for the poor quality of photo. Blame the tour guide. HAHAHAHA. You won’t be sorry visiting this place, their tour guides are hilarious. From start to finish, you’ll laugh non stop.

We also went to Shell Museum. Of course, you’ll see lots of shells. I was about to tick another from my bucket list but it was just a replica. A sea horse was displayed there. I’ve got no photos to share tho.

Last stop for the day: Panglao Beach

I happen to see this starfish in the shore while walking. This has been ticked on my bucket list! Yay for this!

This photo is in exchange for “flip my hair” photo. Sad to say. But I’ll be going back to Bohol just to do that. The sand isn’t as white as Boracay but close!

And here we are, posing one last time by the beach. Get yourselves familiar. I won’t introduce them again to you. HAHAHA

Our second day is full of tour. Lots of places to see. And we all need to rest for that tiring first day.

First stop: Chocolate Hills. Who would ever forget not to go here. It’s always the number 1 as I believe “Place to see when in Bohol.” That’s a tarpaulin behind us anyway but we have the exact hills right behind us. Wait for it. Here it is!

Tadaaaaaah! We climbed 146 stairs at the deck just to see this. It’s tiring but worth it. FYI, there’s a cafe located at this deck named “The Honesty Cafe” all you need to do is get whatever you like and pay. There’s no crew inside but a jar waiting at the counter for you to put your money. A bright idea indeed!

Next Stop: Man made forest. The Twilight feel at this place is ecstatic! It’s quite hard to take photos here because of vehicles that pass by. Being alert is a necessity.

Next Stop: Bohol Habitat. If you love butterflies, this is the place to be. I don’t love them but I don’t hate them either. It’s just that, it’s too girly for me but I took a photo with one of them anyway. Ironic? You bet!

Other things that Bohol is known for? Their tarsiers! I was called one when I was quite young because of how big my eyes are. But I really didn’t believe them and I have proof.

I’m just being childish and goofing around is what I do best. I find myself really funny posing like that but I just want to prove everyone that even I exert effort to open my eyes as big as I can, I don’t really look like one. Clear?

It’s lunch time and my tummy is growling and looking for some food to munch in.

It’s the RioVerde Floating Restaurant. A country singer will serenade you while you eat. Eat whatever you like ’till you can.

Next Stop: Off to visit Prony. The largest and longest python. Sadly, it passed away 3 months ago. All we got to see is its preserved body.

Yeah! He’s that big and long! I got to see and hold a real/living snake anyway. Wanna see?

He’s name is Crony. It’s slimy and kind of heavy. I wasn’t really happy in that picture. I am way too scared too scream and funny to say I look like that. It’s not included in my bucket list but I’ll include this and ticked it anyway.

Last Stop: The Blood Compact. The trivia given to us by our tour guide is to identify which is Datu Sikatuna from the statues. And we got it right. But our answer to his “Why?” is wrong. Wanna know why? Go there and ask them.

That sums it all up. Our second day is over. We’ll be leaving the next day. Sad but we have to.

 Say hello to my good morning face. Good thing about the place we stayed is that, it’s near Dauis Church. All you got to do is walk straight ahead and you’ll be there. We went there to pray but since the church is closed, we searched for their adoration chapel and I was surprise that they celebrate their mass in that same place I was sitting. 90% of Boholanos are Catholic. There are 45 municipalities in Bohol and each municipality has its own church. Most of them are old. According to our tour guide, those churches that was destroyed are made up of corals and egg white so I wasn’t surprised of what had happened.

I am very happy to see happy faces there. Old ladies and men are cleaning the place, sweeping the place because of the dry leaves that fell. You won’t see worried faces in Bohol. Boholanos are kind indeed! They’ll let you ride her car and drive you to the city because you haven’t eat dinner yet. Yes! A lady did that to us and take note, we didn’t even ask her to.

From my family to Boholanos, Maraming Salamat. Nag-enjoy kami. Hanggang sa muli!

March 2013 was indeed a blast.

leave a comment »

My March was a blast! Since it was a blast, a photo of fireworks will do and explains it all.

Me, my best friend and his boyfriend went to SM mall of Asia in Pasay to watch the Pyro Olympics. I am till now is fascinated to fireworks. The sky was full of colors that night and it is very lovely. I am in complete awe that night.

After that awesome fireworks, we went to a friends house near Taguig which I haven’t been to. Yes, it’s true. I do feel a loser for not experiencing going there for some time. I heard from some people that Taguig, specifically The Fort and McKinley is a great place. I don’t know how to go there all by myself. Commuting is a no. I’m scared to ride a taxi all alone and I’m afraid that I’ll get lost because I am indeed a person who is poor at taking directions.

Have I told you that I have good friends? They manage to tour me around Taguig at 2am in the morning. We stopped at Banchetto the famous overnight Food Fiesta in the district. Had a photo at the awesome “man-made tree” in the place. Tour at Serendra and McKinley Hill. Taguig is an awesome place even at night.

Thanks to you Janna, Alvin, Carmie and Gian for the free tour in the area. Bucket List achieved!

2nd place for this month – Antipolo. I’ve been to Antipolo to attend mass at Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage yearly together with my family but I haven’t seen ever in my life the city lights of Manila from up there.

City lights, cold drinks, stories and laughs is a perfect combination for a bonding. A bucket list achieved again together with good friends, Peki and Joanne.

Before March ends, I together with friends went to Enchanted Kingdom in Sta. Rosa Laguna.

We rode Disc-O Magic, Rio Grande Rapids, Anchors Away, Flying Fiesta, Space Shuttle, Log Jam and EKstreme for I don’t know how many times it is. We are all wet but we are indeed very happy. This will be the last time, as I believe I’ll be spending time with the boys. You guys are the best. You ended my month a blast just like how it started.
